Tornado destroys farm shed near Didsbury, Alberta
Photos and story courtesy of Dave Strang
Here's some pix from our local tornado on this past Tuesday afternoon. It first touched down 10 miles west of town and about 10 miles south (Didsbury highway) and proceeded in a northeasterly direction for another 4+ miles before dissipating 8 miles s/w of Olds. There was a lot of torn aluminum sheeting from farm buildings, shattered lumber and tree branches scattered throughout the affected area. Metal highway signposts were also bent over flat and power lines blown down. Luckily, no one was killed or injured.

On sunday afternoon we were travelling north from calgary and came across some pretty dark clouds that had moments before dropped a lot of hail on 791 south of Red Deer, so much so the ground was white.
ReplyDeleteAhhh! That's pretty sad! Sorry to see the beautiful farm shed destroyed by the tornado! That looks really frustrating, but I'm pretty sure that the owner will make it up, I just wish the next time he'll put up his farm shed he'll make it the point that the tornado will never ever be destroy it! Lol
